Q: How did you meet Vincent?
A: My husband Stavros and I met Vincent when my son John began dating my now daughter in-law Tracey. He was very funny, charming and witty and always complementing people. He always had a joke to make you laugh. We're going to miss him and miss his wisdom, good heart and genuine kindness. God bless his soul and may he rest in the arms of angels.
Love Despina and Stavros

Q: What 3 words best describe Vincent and why?
A: Vinny as we called him was my brother's father in - law, but he was more than that. He was a treasured part of my extended family. A kind, funny, warm hearted and truly genuine person. Every time we had the family get togethers, he would always greet me with a special way... He would say Hi Smaaaros.. and that was his way letting me know he was happy to see me. If we hadnt spoken for about an hour or so he would greet me again.. lol.. I loved Vinny and I will miss seeing him around are table and having him in our lives, but I know he will be with us in spirit. May he rest in peace. May he be rejoined to his family in heaven and live the next journey of his life among angels... Love you Vinny... Smaros.

My Brother-In-Law VInce was a good man and a blessing to my late Sister, Carol and the Spaltro family from the day he entered our lives in 1967. I was 14 years old then and I always looked up to VInce as a role model. My Mom & Dad absolutely loved VInce and my Dad nicknamed him "Flip". (I still have no idea where my Dad came up with that name.). We always had good times and Vince would always make me laugh over some joke. Sometimes he was annoying when he reminded my Dad of the stupid things I did as a kid. (I think he liked to get me in trouble or break my chops, hahaha) Like reminding Dad about the empty beer cans hidden behind the insulation in the attic. Or the time when my friends and I were partying in a camper across town and Vince said to my Dad, "let's take a ride and see what Nicky is doing in the camper". They showed up and caught us drinking with some girls. ....Vince continually reminded me of that incident for decades.... thanks Vince... Vince wanted to teach me baking and would get me up at 2:30AM to go to work with him in the bakery in Plainfield. After a few days of that, I would be so tired that I would go to sleep on top of sacks of flour. I definitely did NOT want to be baker but admired how Vince would work in the bakery from the wee hours and then go do a roofing or siding job. Vince also made his special pizza, which was outstanding and like nothing you can buy anywhere. I miss his pizza parties. So many good memories of Vince that I could literally write a book. He was a good Dad to Tracey and Lisa and was always loving and fun. He was a proud Grandpa and Great-Grandpa too!
Vince took very good care of my Sister as she endured many years of illness and accompanied her to hospitals, doctors both locally and out of State. He was so patient with Carol. After my Sister passed in 2008, I know VInce was sad but he never let that get him down. A few years later, Vince was fortunate to have met Susan, her Daughter Melissa, and Sue's Nephew, Anthony, his "adopted family". He loved them as he loved his own family. In later years, as Vince's health failed his adopted family took such good and loving care of him. Thank you from my heart Susan, Melissa and Anthony!
Vince was a good and decent man to whom I have enormous respect and gratitude. Rest In Peace my Brother! I know you are together in heaven with the Perry and Spaltro families and can only imagine the warm and loving reception you got when you passed through the gates of heaven.
Love and miss you! Nick
