Obituary of Todd M. Furbee
Hillsborough, NJ – Todd Michael Furbee, 54, died suddenly in Virginia while on a business trip. Born in Hamilton, OH to Roger and Ruth (Bordine) Furbee, Todd grew up in Middlesex and moved to Bridgewater in 1990. He settled in Somerset in 1995 and resided in Hillsborough from 2016 until his death.
Todd worked as a Software Engineer for the Carrier Corporation. He graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics and received his Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Everyone who met Todd instantly loved his welcoming personality. He enjoyed hosting gatherings and cooking for his family and friends. Todd was well rounded in his ability to help others no matter what they needed. A huge fan of Rutgers, and a season ticket holder for 33 years, he could always be found arriving early to the games and tailgating in the parking lot. He enjoyed spending time with his sons; hosting game nights, and playing D&D with his close childhood friends. Todd loved spending time with his wife, sons, and dogs hiking and exploring the great outdoors. As a member of the NJ Craft Beer Membership Club, he loved venturing out with his wife to try local IPAs in NJ and in different parts of the country. One of his favorite summertime activities was spending time with his family and/or friends poolside in his backyard.
A loving husband, son, father, uncle and friend, he will be missed dearly. Predeceased by his father Roger, brother Christopher, father-in-law Peter Jimenez and his dogs Loki and Cody. Todd leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Teresa and their two sons: Sean and Jason. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Furbee of Middlesex, mother-in-law Xiomara Jimenez of Springdale, AR, sisters-in-law; Tania Haycock, Tina Shirkey (husband, Robert), Tricia Ecklyn and Lucia Furbee, as well as six nieces, two nephews and a large group of his beloved friends.
At Todd’s request, the wake services will be privately held at Middlesex Funeral Home. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, everyone is invited to St. Matthias RC Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Somerset, NJ 08873 for an 11:00am funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Todd’s name to either St. Jude’s Hospital or Second Chance for Animals (Somerset, NJ) would be appreciated.
