Obituary of Norman C. Danielsen
Piscataway, NJ – Norman Christian Danielsen, 91, passed away peacefully at home in Piscataway on May 6, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Trygve Ananias and Louise Johannah (Bogstad) Danielsen, Norman was a longtime resident of Piscataway.
Norman began working at Union Carbide after high school and served in the National Guard on weekends for eight years. He volunteered with the American Red Cross where he was a First Aid, CPR, and canoe instructor.
Norman belonged to a local ski club and was active with ski patrol for more than forty years at Plainfield, Killington, Okemo and Vernon Valley Greater George. He also was a member of the Garden State Canoe and Hunting Club and the Upper Delaware River Patrol in NY State. An avid outdoors man, he loved to go camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, and care for his Labrador Retrievers and chickens.
Predeceased by his wife Mary Anne in 2013 and by his brother Robert, Norman leaves behind his two daughters; Susan Semple and her husband August of PA and Karen Robison and her husband John of SC, sister Doris Danielsen Jorgensen of Maine, nine grandchildren; Michael, August, Elizabeth, Katherine, Hannah, Phillip, Abigail, David, and Nathan as well as six great-grandchildren; Audrey, Charlotte, August, Bartholomew, Theodore, and Leonidas.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 10am until 12pm with burial to follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
