Obituary of Florence C Kelly
Florence C. Kelly, 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in Middlesex, NJ. She now joins her beloved husband of 59 years, Francis, in God’s heavenly kingdom.
She was born and raised in Staten Island. In 1969, Florence, and Francis, and their children settled in East Brunswick.
A dedicated wife and mother, Florence raised their family of six children in a joyful and loving household.
An incredible cook, she enjoyed finding and perfecting a vast array of delectable recipes.
In addition to her passion for cooking , Florence also enjoyed reading and sewing.
In her younger years, Florence used her considerable accounting skills in her job with the New York Telephone Company. These skills were quite useful as she later managed all the financial responsibilities that came with a family of eight people.
Florence always made all the wonderful things that she did for her family of six children seem effortless.
After her husband, Francis’s passing, in May 2014, Florence relocated to her daughter’s residence in Middlesex, where she enjoyed a lovely life with family, friends, neighbors, and her sweet dog, Charlie.
Florence will be missed by her children: Three sons, Robert Kelly and his wife Carol, Daniel Kelly and his wife Mary Chris and John Kelly; three daughters, Kathleen Kowal, Patricia Judge and husband Russell and Joanne Kelly; as well as her eight grandchildren, Bridget, Erin, Brendan, John, Kelly, William, Debbie and Julie; and her great grandchildren, Ava, Charlotte, Holt, Keira, Eliza, Madeleine, Elise, Peter, Grace, Nora, Fiona and Chloe. She will also be missed by her dear sister, Terry Clark, and several nieces and nephews. She was was predeceased by her parents, Hedwig and William V. Paul Sr., her sister Agnes Reilly, and her brother, William Paul Jr.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be held privately in Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamesburg.
