Obituary of Jeanne M. Arnott
Piscataway, NJ – Jeanne M. Arnott, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Brookdale Hillsborough Assisted Living in Hills Borough, NJ.
Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, to the late John and Mary Fedor, Jeanne graduated from Trenton High School and later attended Trenton Teacher’s College. While teaching, Jeanne met her soon-to-be husband, Alfred Arnott. Following their wedding, the two resided in New Brunswick where they started their family, before settling in Piscataway where Jeanne has been a longtime resident.
With a degree in teaching, Jeanne proudly taught Middle School, however, she took a break from teaching to raise her children. Once her children were in school themselves, she went back to teaching, teaching in the evenings for GED students. Jeanne later began working at Fidelity Savings and Loans in the accounting department. Following her retirement from Fidelity, she went back to work part-time at the Piscataway Public Library.
A true fan of the arts and education, Jeanne was active with the Piscataway Cultural Arts Commission; she was also an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Somerset where she also served as a Trustee. Jeanne enjoyed volunteering at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick and kept the Birth Right Movement close to her heart. She could often be found reading, admiring art or nature, enjoying music, or spending time with her cats.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Alfred Arnott, son, Michael and his wife Carol, and grandson Daniel, Jeanne is survived by three children, Stephen (Melinda) Arnott, Jill Robb, and Timothy Arnott. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Courtney (Matthew), Alyssa (Michael), Brian (Michele), and Spencer, as well as her great-grandchild, Olivia, and a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Family and friends are invited back to the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 9:30 AM for funeral services, which will begin at 10 AM.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, 899 E Lincoln Ave, Piscataway, NJ.
Family and friends may send flowers, or make donations to the Piscataway Public Library in Jeanne’s name.
