Obituary of Ron Zampella
Ron Zampella, 82, of Piscataway passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital – Somerset.
Born to the late Anthony and Theresa Zampella, Ron began his life in Plainfield before the family moved to Watchung.
Following his marriage to Donna (née Cherasaro) in 1984, he relocated to Piscataway where they remained as residents for 39 ½ years.
Ron was a dedicated employee of Egan-Dave Standard for over 30 years, where we worked as a Quality Control Inspector before his retirement in 2001.
Outside of work, Ron was a car enthusiast, NY Yankees fan, and enjoyed vacationing at Pt. Pleasant Beach. He collected model cars of all different makes, models, and years and was handy with tools. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandchildren (including their pets) and was known to them as “Pop” or “Poppy”. He was the first volunteer in line to babysit and never missed their events.
Predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Lawrence Zampella, Ron leaves behind his wife Donna Zampella; children, Marc (Randi) Zampella, Theresa Zampella, Dorothy (Melissa) Doremus, John (Jennifer) Doremus, and Amy (Timothy) DeCola. He will also be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service was held by his family.
