Joseph Cervati, 54, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Pt. Pleasant, Joe grew up in Brick Twp. and moved to South Plainfield in 1985 where he resided until relocating to Piscataway in 2018.

He was currently working as a switcher for Americold Logistics formerly Halls Warehouse in South Plainfield for the past nine years and prior Joe worked for United Steel Deck for 20 years also in South Plainfield.

A simple man, Joe enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting the Jersey Shore and dining out.

He is predeceased by his parents, Renata (Kurilew) and Leo J. Cervati Jr.

Surviving is his wife Heather Prairie of Piscataway; sister, Donna Sabbagh of San Diego, CA., mother and father in-law, Debbie and William Prairie of Edison; sisters in-law, Arlene Kovas of Edison and Jennifer Prairie and her fiancé Kris Willman of Somerset; niece, Miranda and nephews, Anthony and Christopher. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1-4pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

Cremation services are going to take place privately.
