Obituary of Robert Michael Catalfamo
Toms River – Robert Michael Catalfamo, 43, surrounded by loving family, passed away suddenly at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Rahway to Robert and Marion (Morgan) Catalfamo, Rob was a 1999 graduate of South Plainfield High School. Rob lived in Jersey City and began a career in hospitality. Later, Rob moved to Albany, NY where he worked for the New York Board of Health.
Rob moved down to Toms River, where he met his fiancé Stephanie. They have a daughter Luna who carries on his legacy by sharing Rob’s comic style and musical talent. Rob was the Branch Manager of Citizens Bank in Manchester. His colleagues appreciated his kindness and empathy as a manager. Rob would love to help the elderly, especially when it came to helping them resolve and prevent fraud and phishing attempts.
Rob loved to fish. He loved animals, especially dogs and cats (he adored his new cat Maya). He enjoyed comedy, especially British comedy. Rob was passionate about music and had exceptional taste. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching documentaries on space, astrophysics, and Star Trek. He loved playing chess with his family and friends. His favorite thing to play was Ni no Kuni with his daughter Luna. He was able to see Luna score her first goal in soccer. Above all things, Rob loved his family and could never spend enough time with his daughter Luna. They will always be best friends. He is the greatest father Luna could have ever had. Rob liked to travel. He aspired to go to Ireland and England to see where his family roots originated.
Predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Therese and Albert Morgan and his paternal grandparents; Gladys and Tony Catalfamo, Rob leaves behind his parnter Stephanie Quarto and their daughter Luna, his parents; Robert and Marion Catalfamo, his sister Angela and brother Christopher and his wife Kristin. He will be missed by his nieces and nephew; Kayla Magee and Carson and Halle Catalfamo as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4pm until 8pm and on Saturday, March 2, 2024 beginning 9:00am. On Saturday, March 2, 2024 prayers will be held 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a 10:00am funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Cremation will take place privately, but family and friends are welcome to join at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 am where he will be laid to rest.
