Obituary of Rudy S. Troupe
Piscataway – Rudy S. Troupe, 88, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home in Piscataway.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, to Mack II and Elsie (Sykes) Troupe, Rudy spent his formative years in Newark. It was there that he met the love of his life, Bernice Daniels, a kind and devoted woman whose faith and family were at the center of her life. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2018. They settled in Piscataway Township nearly 55 years ago, where they raised their family of five children.
Rudy found joy in saltwater fishing and gardening, and he cherished the simple pleasure of working on puzzles with his beloved wife. Above all, Rudy will be remembered as a family man who devoted himself to nurturing the generations that followed him. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Troupe; his daughter, Lavonne Shariff; his granddaughter, Quadisa Shariff; as well as his parents Mack II and Elsie and his five siblings: Kemp, Emma, Robert, Connie, and Gloria.
Rudy is survived by his children, Mack Troupe III and his wife (Peggy), Rudine Troupe, Annette Troupe, and Deborah Hough and her husband (Douglas); 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Troupe and Shirley Person, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members who will carry his memory forward.
Rudy’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring strength of family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
