Obituary of Patricia Simmonds
Piscataway, NJ – Patricia Ann Simmonds, 65, died unexpectedly at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by her family. Born in Newark to the late John Patrick and Mary Catherine (VanCleve) Healy, Patty was a lifelong resident of Piscataway.
Patty was a librarian for the township of Piscataway for thirty-five years, eventually working her way to Head of Children’s Services. Along with her husband, she was co-owner of T.C.S. Fabricating Inc., which is a subsidiary of Bel-Arc Industries.
Patty was a devout Catholic, and was very active within the parish of St. Frances Cabrini in Piscataway. She was a team captain for Alzheimer’s NJ and volunteered with the Friends of the Library. Patty had a passion for crafts, especially quilling, drawing, and cross-stitch. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Tim and their children; Kaitlyn, Emily and her husband Ricky, Timothy and his wife Ama, and Jonathan. She will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren; Nevaeh, Aiden, Peyton, Avery, and Ky as well as her four siblings; Mary Chris, Jim, Katie, and Margaret and many close extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 4pm until 8pm. Family and friends may gather at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 for a 10am funeral mass. Following, Patty will be laid to rest close to her parents at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
Patty gave in death as she gave in life through organ and tissue donation. Patty also generously donated to many charities throughout the years. Some of her favorites were Alzheimer’s New Jersey, FISH Inc., and Elijah’s Promise.
