Obituary of Nadine Forrester

Please share a memory of Nadine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nadine Nicole Forrester, age 41, passed away peacefully at J.F.K Hartwyck Rehabilitation Center for Head Injuries in Edison, New Jersey on February 22, 2018. Born on August 17, 1976 in Somerville, New Jersey to Jeffrey and Yvonne Forrester, Nadine attended New Life Christian School where she graduated with distinction for academic success and involvement in drama productions, yearbook, and choir, to name a few. Consistent with her desire for excellence, Nadine continued her academic pursuits at Rider University, where she was Editor-In-Chief of the award winning newspaper, The Rider News and Vice President of her class. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Journalism and Economics, and thereafter secured a job at the prestigious financial institution, Merrill Lynch. Nadine was an active member at First Christian Assembly, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a member on the Praise team. By her family and friends, she will be remembered as a vibrant, multitalented, young woman with an undeniable sense of humor, who strove for excellence. With her ambition, intellectual sharpness, determination and her scholarly approach to academic pursuits, she was poised for growth. The world of the arts was her world; she excelled in dramatic speech and skillfully played the flute. Nadine loved to travel and frequently visited her parents' homeland, Jamaica. The course of her life took an unfortunate change when after surgery in 1999 she became critically ill and was transferred to J.F.K. Hartwyck Rehabilitation Center. There she spent the rest of her life. Nadine's life compared well to a roller coaster. In 2001, she had a huge setback that started a further downward trend. Nonetheless, her resilient spirit was evident every step of the way. And, undoubtedly, her experience underscored the faithfulness of God. Despite Nadine's illness, she gave her mother (extraordinaire), Yvonne much joy as she battled and survived the odds many times. Nadine was greatly loved by many. She is survived by her loving mother, Yvonne, her dedicated brothers, Garnett, Nathan and Ian, nephews Garrett and Jeffrey, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Nadine was preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey in July 1988. We will always cherish her remembrance as she sleeps to await the trump of God on that glad reunion day. Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4-8pm. On Saturday, March 3, 2018, beginning 9:00 am, family and friends may gather for additional visitation at M E D E S (formerly the First Christian Assembly of Plainfield) 400 West 8th Street, Plainfield, NJ 07060.
