Louis J. Toth South Plainfield - Louis J. Toth, 79, died on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his home. Born in New Brunswick, Lou lived in Paterson as a young boy and grew up in Jersey City. He married in 1953, resided in Irvington before he and his wife, Betty, settled their young family to South Plainfield in 1958. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Serving two tours, once during WWII & the later during the Korean conflict as a machinist's mate third class. He served aboard a number of vessels during his duty before being honorably discharged. Lou attended both Steven's Institute of Technology and Rutgers University. For many years, he worked as an engineer with Plessey Dynamics, later known as GEC Siemens Aerospace in Hillside and later in Livingston. Lou retired in the early 1990's only to be called back to consult for the company. As a long time communicant of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Lou served as the Folk Mass Director for almost 20 years. He enjoyed singing and assisted with numerous wedding through the years. Lou was a very involved parent. He enjoyed his children, encouraged their involvement in many activities and continued with the love and involvement in his eight grandchildren. Predeceased by his two brothers, Ernest & Edwin, he is survived is his wife of 54 years, Betty L . (Goense). His daughter, Leslie Rogler & her husband, Charles of Carmel, NY. His son, Eric & his wife Jennifer of Douglassville, PA. His sister, Elizabeth Maurer of Paramus, NJ. And his beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Kimberly, Abigail, Heather, Savannah, Eric & Mckenzie. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home "> ">
