South Plainfield, NJ - Joan E. (Ivan) Moran went to the Lord on June 2, 2008 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 9, 1939 in Fords, NJ to the late John and Helen (Winkler) Ivan.

Returning to the work force, she was employed by the Rutgers University Athletic Department. She retired after 20 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Athletic Support Department at Hale Center in Piscataway.
She was a past member and former president of the Rutgers Fanees, a support group for Rutgers Athletics. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Parish in South Plainfield and the Silver Knights, a Rutgers Retirees Organization.
After retirement, she found fulfillment and joy in volunteering for the Auxiliary at JFK Hospital in Edison. As Baby Alumni Chair, she oversaw fundraising to purchase equipment for the Maternity Ward and Children's Pediatric Unit.
