Gloria Breuning South Plainfield, NJ - Gloria (Murray) Breuning, 85, died on Monday, May 25, 2009 at her home with her husband by her side. Born in New York City, Gloria has been a resident of South Plainfield since 1959. She served with the American Red Cross during the Korean War, serving in Korea, Japan and Guam. Gloria retired from Sacred Heart School in South Plainfield where she was a fifth grade school teacher. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart and was also a Eucharistic Minister. In retirement, Gloria was a member of the Suburban Woman's Club and she enjoyed reading to first graders at Sacred Heart School. Gloria leaves behind her husband Frederick Breuning, her children; sons James and his wife Kathleen of Lambertville, NJ, Robert Breuning of Piedmont, CA, and daughter Francis Davis and her husband David of Danville, CA. She will be missed by her grandchildren; Michael, Kyle and Lauren Breuning and DJ, Erin and Kelli Davis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery also in South Plainfield. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 4-8 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until the service time.
