Eleanor Giunta South Plainfield - Eleanor Giunta (nee D'Amico), 88, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at her daughters home in Piscataway. Born and raised in Bernardsville, Eleanor has resided in South Plainfield for more than 60 years. She was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield and a former member of their Rosary Alter Society. Eleanor was also a member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, as well as, the South Plainfield Senior Citizens. In addition, she had worked the voting polls for a number of years at Kennedy School in South Plainfield. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, cooking and sharing recipes with her family, but most dear to her heart was the time spent and love she had for her grandchildren. Her husband, Albert died June 2, 2007. She is also pre-deceased by her brother Dominick D'Amico, and her sister, Josephine Caperna. Surviving are her 2 daughters; Donna Cannis and her husband Jay of Piscataway and Alberta Martino of South Plainfield, her 3 sisters; Mary Faulkner of Florida, Rose Russo of Plainfield, and Lena Buttita of Raritan, and 3 her grandchildren; Raymond & Elizabeth Marsh, & Jennifer Walker. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin- Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820 "> ">
