Rose Pompa Warren, NJ - Rose (Bianco) Pompa, died on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. Born and raised Camden, Mrs. Pompa married the late Paul Pompa in 1956 and in 1966 they moved to South Plainfield prior to settling to Warren in 2000. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield and participated in several of the parish ministries including the F.I.S.H. Dinners, served as editor of the Parish Voice and as a Lector. In 1995 after working as an administrator for many years, Rose retired from the Rutgers University School of Pharmacology in Piscataway. She was truly a family woman who was selfless by all means. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time at her Ocean City shore home with family. In addition, Rose enjoyed vacationing to Nassau, Bahamas with her friends. Her husband, Paul, died in 2000, she is also predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Surviving are a loving family; daughter, Michele Merle and her husband Jeff of Neshanic Station, NJ, three sons; Thomas and his wife Dina of Flemington, NJ, Paul Jr. and his wife Elisa of Warren, NJ and Richard and his wife Katherine of Lebanon, NJ two sisters; Jenny Nocito and Marie Keller and by her seven adoring grandchildren; Paul III and Michael Pompa, William Dealman, Nicholas and Alison Merle and Donald and Anthony Stevens. Funerals Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend the visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
