Florence E. Roehringer East Brunswick - Florence E. Roehrigner, 91, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice in Edison. Flo was born in New Brunswick and moved to East Brunswick when she married her husband, Arthur Roehringer, 68 years ago. She had worked as a telephone operator for over 30 years for Bell Telephone in New Brunswick and at the time of her retirement, 29 years ago, she was working at the North Brunswick location. She had been a long time member of the Telephone Pioneers of America . In her younger years, Flo had been a long time member of St. Bartholomew Church in E. Brunswick where she also served as a charter member of their Alter Rosary Society. In addition, she served with Our Lady of Lords PTA in Milltown and along with her family, worked annually for many years at the Middlesex County Fair. Flo especially enjoyed her home and garden where she loved to grow flowers. She is pre deceased by her daughter, Barbara Ann Roehringer and by her sister, Marie Rooney. In addition to her husband, Arthur, surviving are her daughter Christine M. Smyth and her long time companion, Nick Casale of Old Bridge, her granddaughter, Deborah A. Smyth of Cliffwood, her grandson Daniel T. Smyth and his wife Donna of Old Bridge and by her sister Patricia J. McCriskin of Bayville. Funeral services will begin at a 8:15 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2009 in the Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, 454 Cranbury Rd., E. Brunswick followed by a 9:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew RC Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.. Family and friend are invited to attend the visitation hours on Friday from 6-8 PM in the Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations to the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, 1 Roosevelt Drive, Edison, NJ 08837 would be appreciated.
