Harold J. O'Brien Plainfield - Harold J. O'Brien, 71, died on Friday June,1, 2007 at JFK Hartwyck -Oak Tree, Care Center in Edison. Born in Lyndhurst, Harold resided in Oakridge for many years before settling to Plainfield in 1999. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had a love for construction and renovations. Being employed for a number of years with Sears Home Improvements, he did various renovations and store projects. He also had been self employed in the same manner for a few years. Some of his hobbies included renovating or building many cars, R.V's, and boats. Harold was also a devoted and religious man. He is a 27 year member of the People of Hope Christ the King Community and the Koinonia Academy. In addition, he is a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Betty (James) O'Brien. His two children, Barbara and her husband, Paul Karvois and William Bartholomew & his wife Marian of Monroe, Georgia. His sister, Olive Seward and his two brothers, Bill & Jim O'Brien. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael, Marc, Brittney, Kristie and his two great grandchildren, Travis & Aaron. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ. Family and friends will be received at the church beginning at 10:00 until the mass begins at 10:30 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. "> ">
