Charles T. Kiick Charles T. Kiick, 90, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Genesis Eldercare/The Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Lyndhurst before moving to South Plainfield in 1951. Charles was employed as an Assembler for American Can Co. of Hillside for 20 years before his retirement. He served with the 69th Regiment in the United States Army during WW II. Charles was a member & former commander of the 69th Regiment Veteran''s Corp. of Manhattan, NY., and the American Legion Chaumont Post # 243 of South Plainfield. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernian''s, the South Plainfield Polish Home and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Charles was an avid reader and history enthusiast. He cherished his Irish heritage and faithfully marched with the Fighting 69th every St. Patrick''s Day in New York City. Charles was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in 2002. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Ed Cumming of New Providence and by his grandsons, Jeffrey & Timothy Cumming. He also leaves behind the loving staff at The Woodlands, where he resided the past seven years. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will be private.
