Robert A. Devansky Edison, NJ - Robert A. Devansky, 74, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born on Staten Island, NY, he has been a resident of Edison since 1964. Honorably discharged from the United States Navy, he served during the Korean Conflict as a medic. After forty-one years of employment for L.A. Dreyfus Co. in Edison, he retired in 1996 as Senior Vice President of Production. He enjoyed traveling the world, having visited Australia, New Zealand, Moscow, Alaska, Europe and Hawaii while enjoying many of the adventures those locations had to offer. In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, spending time at his house on Lake Wallenpaupack and most often, he could be found on the sidelines enjoying his grandchildren's many activities. He is predeceased by three sisters and one brother. He leaves behind his beloved wife Ellen (Scheid) Devansky, his children; Stephen Devansky of Saxis, VA and Eileen Senz and her husband Steve of South Plainfield. He will be missed by his four grandchildren; Jessica and Rachel Senz and Paul and Jason Devansky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 beginning 1:00 PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 11:00 AM until the service time. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be sent to Haven Hospice, C/O JFK Medical Center, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820.
