Douglas E. Tackach South Plainfield - Douglas E. Tackach, 55, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Perth Amboy, Doug has been a life long resident of South Plainfield. A graduate of South Plainfield High School, he initially worked for Hmieleski Trucking Company of South Plainfield as a mechanic and is currently employed by Bridgewater Township in the Department of Public Works. Doug is a faithful and long time enthusiast of the South Plainfield High School Wrestling Program. In addition, he enjoyed his cars and trucks, as well as being a Dallas Cowboys fan and a member of the Watchung Hills Elks Lodge #2252 in Warren. Predeceased by his mother, Arlene (Swann) Tackach, he is survived by his wife, Janet (Conselina) Tackach, his two children, Staff Sergeant Doug, E. Tackach, Jr. currently serving in Iraq with the NJ Army National Guard and Stephanie Tackach. His father, Peter and his wife, Vera. Three sisters, Catherine, Theresa and Donna and a brother, John & his wife Michele. Doug also leaves behind, many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and prior to the funeral services in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home followed by interment in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family & Friends are also welcome and invited to join the family at Doug & Janet's residence following the funeral on Friday. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.H.S Wrestling Team, Activities Account, C/O 200 Lake Street, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
