Concetta D. Cornell Piscataway - Concetta D. (Spinelli) Cornell, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at JFK Hartwyck Edison Estate in Edison, NJ. Born and raised in the Bronx, she had resided in Plainfield and South Plainfield before her marriage to the late Henry W. Cornell. They had resided in various locations throughout the US while Henry served in the armed forces and later worked for American Cyanamid, before settling to Piscataway in 1964. Concetta was a graduate of the Muhlenburg School of Nursing and had been a registered nurse holding various industrial nursing positions before her retirement in the late 1960's. She is the recipient of a several achievement awards for her dedication to the profession. She is pre-deceased by her husband Henry W. who died in 1986 and by a sister Marie Todisco. Surviving are her 2 daughters; Catherine Seltsam and Lois Slowata & her husband John. A sister, Carol Barone and two grandchildren; Tara and Julie. Also surviving are her two great grandchildren, Piper and Cooper. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, East Millstone. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
