Marie A. Gonzalez South Plainfield, NJ - Marie A. (Rafferty) Gonzalez, 79, died on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at The Pavillions at Forrestal located in Princeton. Born and raised in Middletown, CT, Marie lived in Meriden, CT, New York City and Middlesex before moving to South Plainfield in 1974. She spent her time caring for her family as a homemaker and could be found with her husband at his business, Joanne's Kitchen's in South Plainfield. Marie was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. She enjoyed bowling and loved children; especially her granddaughter Ellie Marie. She was predeceased by her husband Cruz who died January 15, 2010 and by her siblings. Marie leaves behind her son Ricky and his wife Maureen of North Carolina, her granddaughter Ellie Marie Gonzalez, niece Linette Gonzalez of Andover and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2010 beginning 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Interment will take place in Puerto Rico. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 4-7 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the service time. In lieu of flowers, donations sent to the Multiple Myeloma Opportunities for Research and Education, P.O. Box 20067, Columbus, OH 43220 would be appreciated.
