Vincent E. Wojciechowski Edison - Vincent E. Wojciechowski, 86, died on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 in the Haven Hospice at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Vincent settled to the Oak Tree Section of Edison at the age of ten. He entered the United States Navy, serving as the chief petty officer during WWII in the Philippines. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned to Edison where he has resided ever since. In 1963 Vincent became the owner and operator of the Knotty Pine Diner on Park Avenue in South Plainfield before his retirement in 1988. His hobbies included being an Amateur Boxer in the 1940's, a charter member of the Oak Tree Volunteer Fire Company and a member of their Exempt Fireman's Association. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and excelled at skeet shooting. In addition, he enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing craps. He is predeceased by his two brothers, Charles & Walter and his sister, Olga Harkins. Surviving are his wife, Linda, his five children, Jean Jones & her husband, Kenneth of Scotch Plains, Vincent Jr. & his wife Addie of Roxbury, NY., John & his wife Doreen of Edison, Daniel & his wife, Stacey of Dorloo, NY., & Lorry Wojciechowski of Piscataway. His three sisters, Helen Campbell, Viola Hall & Stella Creel and his brother, Edward. Also surviving are his 14 grandchildren, Sherry, Jeannine, Heather, Shannon, Kelly, Renee, Michelle, Patrick, Vincent III, Anina, Jackie, Justin, Christopher & Demetri. And ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. "> ">
