South Plainfield - Rose E. Frederickson passed away peacefully at her home early Thursday morning, May 5, 2011 with her husband at her side, after a courageous and well fought battle against cancer. Born in Plainfield, she had resided in South Plainfield for most of her life. Rose was well known locally due to her jobs through the years and for her pleasant personality and warm smile. Rose initially worked as a Real Estate Agent and then as a Sales Assistant at the former Choice Seating Furniture Store on Route #22. She later could often be found working at the family store, the former Celebrity Liquors Store in South Plainfield and most recently at the counter of Xtreme Car Wash in South Plainfield. Predeceased by her son Scott, who died in 1981, she is survived by her husband, Mathias "Buddy" W. Frederickson, Sr., a son; Mathias "Matt" Frederickson, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, a brother; Vito Lodese, several extended family members and a host of friends. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 9:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment services will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation hours on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM on Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Haven Hospice, 65 James St. Edison, NJ 08820 or to the American Cancer Society.
