Obituary of Nicholas T. Sperduto

Nicholas T. "Buddy" Sperduto Lopatcong - Nicholas T. " Buddy" Sperduto, 73, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his home under hospice care after a brief illness. Born in Newark, NJ, Nicholas grew up in Belleville and had resided in Elizabeth for 30 years before settling to Lopatcong in 1996. He is a retired Chemical Tank Truck Driver, retiring after 30 years from Krajack Tank Lines of Keasbey. Prior to, he worked at Tevnan's Orchard Tavern in Elizabeth. Nicholas is a member of the Phillipsburg Italian -American Social Club, the Huntington Volunteer Fire Department and the Prime Timers Senior Club. He enjoyed spending time hunting, camping and playing Bocce Ball. He was most famous within his family for his homemade Sambuca for which he has his own secret recipe Predeceased by his brother Thomas, surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan (Jankowski), two daughters; Diane Conroy and her husband, Thomas and Joanne Zeliff and her husband, Mark all of South Plainfield, a son; Nicholas and his wife, Kathy of Lebanon Township and two sisters; Dolores Wilson and Carol DeNude. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christina & Kevin Conroy and Harry Sperduto. Funeral services will begin on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, South Plainfield. Committal services will follow in Rosehill Crematory Chapel, Linden, NJ. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Sunday, from 2-6 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231 (smiletrain.org) or to the Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 (karenannquinlanhospice.org ).
