Obituary of Janet M. Gerhardt

Sayreville - Janet Gerhardt, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2015 at The Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy. Born and raised in Somerville, Janet and her late husband, Robert Sr. resided in Garwood before settling to South Plainfield in 1970. Janet and Bob had a milk business called B&J's dairy until 1982. After selling their milk business in 1982, together, they purchased their business, Dixies Tavern, in Carteret, until Janet sold the business in 2007 and retired. After the passing of her husband, Janet relocated to Sayerville, where she lived until her passing. Predeceased by her husband who died in 2000, Robert Sr. and son who died in 1975, Glenn Wade Olsen - surviving are her four children, Robert D. Jr of Sayreville, Susan Gerhardt of South Plainfield, Fawn Butler of Florida and William Olsen of Alabama. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren Kodi Butler of Florida, Michael Eustice Jr. and Sierra Bell of South Plainfield, and Michael Olsen of Alabama. Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends mat attend visitation on Thursday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM in the funeral home.
