Obituary of Laura R. Newman

Laura Newman South Plainfield - Laura R. (Douglass) Newman, 89, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Aristacare at Cedar Oaks in South Plainfield. Born and raised in Plainfield, NJ she lived in Middlesex, North Plainfield and Piscataway before moving to South Plainfield in 2000. Laura was a long time communicant of St. Joseph's RC Church in North Plainfield, a member of the Catholic Daughters Association and a homemaker. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert; a son Kenneth; two sisters, Ellen and Margaret and a brother Harley. Surviving her children Laura Irovando of Piscataway, Theresa Beleno of Allentown, PA, Bob L. Newman, Jr. (Cathy) of South Plainfield, Wayne Newman (Sharon) of Fullerton, CA, Harley Newman (Laurie) of Dunellen and her brother Jeremiah Douglass of Delaware. Also surviving are 18 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Providinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 4-6 PM in the funeral home.
