Obituary of Dennis J. Rooney

Dennis J. Rooney Sr. 56, died suddenly on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dennis grew up on Staten Island and resided in Edison for over 25 years prior to relocating to South Plainfield three years ago. An electrician by trade, for over 30 years Dennis belonged to the Local Union No. 3 IBEW in Flushing, NY. He was also an avid sports fan and loved the NY Mets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a loving father, had many friends and will be dearly missed. Dennis is predeceased by his father William and is survived by his daughter, Diane Mosko and her husband Lee of Edison; son, Dennis of Maryland; mother, Rita Rooney of Monroe; brothers, Kevin and his wife Lorraine and Brian Sr. and his wife Antoinette all of Staten Island; granddaughter, Mia Mosko; former spouse, Karen Cenci of Edison and her parents, Emil and Adeline Cenci of Manalapan; dear companion, Ivette Contreras of South Plainfield and several extended relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 11am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 3-8pm in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations have been requested to The A21 Campaign www.a21.org
