Kathleen L. Dobozinski South Plainfield - Kathleen L. Dobozinski, 58, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at home after a long and courageous battle against ALS. Born in Plainfield, she was raised and had resided in South Plainfield for most of her life. Kathy was always a loving and caring person who embraced everyone she came in contact with. Her love and desire of various cultures and ethnicities lead to a life long career as the owner and operator of "Phoenix," a retail boutique currently located in Beach Haven, NJ. Prior to Beach Haven, Phoenix was located at the very popular ( now closed ) US #1 flee market in Edison for over 21 years where she specialized in various and eclectic items for everyone. Her love for New Jersey and the Jersey Shore left no doubt that she was a true Jersey Girl. Her generosity grew over the years and had a lasting effect on many. Kathy also loved animals, was a rescuer of wild and unwanted animals and was new to bee keeping. She is also a wild mushroom hunter, a skill from European decedents that was taught to her by her father and grandfather which she in turn has passed on. In addition, Kathy had provided care to her parents, Louis and Theodora, until their passing. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Nancy Dobozinski and Antoinette Banul and her uncle, Joseph. Kathy leaves behind with a very heavy heart her long time companion, love and care giver; Michael Peler, a beloved friend; James Aquino, a sister; Veronica " Ronnie" Dobozinski, a niece; Laura Amirr, great nephew; Kenny, brother in law; Kenneth Banul and a host of many whom she knew. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
