South Plainfield - Martin Horvath, 92, died peacefully on Sunday November 23, 2014 at CareOne - The Highlands in Edison with those he loved at his side. Born in Dunellen he lived in Piscataway prior to settling in South Plainfield 42 years ago. He served his country proudly as a WWII Veteran of the United States Navy and was a life member of the Dunellen VFW Post # 5479. Prior to retiring, he worked for Asplundh Tree Service. He was an active member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church of South Plainfield, former member of the North Plainfield German Society, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family, as well as, model trains and international doll collections. Predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth, parents, Thomas and Hermina, five brothers; Stephen, Thomas Jr., Frank, John and Edward, and sister, Anne Myskosky. Surviving are his loving wife, Waltraud, two sons; Gordon and Ernst Graeler, daughter in law, Diana. Nephew; Stephen Horvath, great niece; Nicole Ferreira, her husband Al and son Christian. Nieces; Debbie Redrup, Sandy Santangelo, Dawn Dalton, nephew; Edward Myskosky along with all their families. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Stephens Lutheran Church, 3145 Park Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Lake Nelson Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ.
