Obituary of Vincent Anthony DeBono

Middlesex, NJ - Vincent Anthony DeBono, 88, peacefully passed away at his residence with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 11, 2015. Born in Bound Brook, Vincent was raised in Somerville and had resided in Middlesex since 1967. Mr. DeBono worked at Harris Steel in Piscataway for many years, Plyfiber Container Corp. in Raritan and a secondary job for over twenty years in the housekeeping department of Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Not one to sit idle after retiring, he also worked at Sussex Drugs in Middlesex. Vincent was a Navy Veteran and a World War II survivor. A life member of the Stevenson-D'Alessio Post 12 American Legion in Somerville, he served as Junior Past Vice Chairman and was active with the Post for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed going for long bike rides, swimming, walking his beloved dog, Sandy and spending quality time with his family. He enjoyed his current companion and best friend, Diesel "Weasel." Predeceased by his parents Louis and Elizabeth (Pascale) DeBono, his infant daughter Geri Lynn and brother Louis "Red" DeBono, he is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years Judith Ellen (Roehrbein) DeBono, two loving and devoted children to his care; Gina Marie DeBono and Robert and his wife Melisa DeBono, sister Eleanor Kovach, niece Kelly Gray, nephew Tracy Kovach and four cherished grandchildren; Tyler and Lia DeBono, and Gianna Rae and Anthony Pirone. Family and friends will be received at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 9:30 am until the 10:00 am funeral service. At the request of the family, cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vincent's memory to the Stevenson-D'Alesso Post 12 American Legion in Somerville or to the DeBono family.
