Victor Gromosaik Victor "Vic" Gromosaik, 76, died January 11, 2013 surrounded by those he loved. Vic was born and raised in Barnesboro, PA. He served 3 years in the US Army, including time overseas in France. He lived for a time in East Orange and Edison before moving to South Plainfield, where he was a resident for over 42 years. He was the first in his family to graduate college, with a Bachelor's degree from St. Peters College in Jersey City. He worked for 31 years as a Telephone Communications Engineer with Verizon, retiring in 1999. Vic was an avid golfer, Pittsburgh Steelers fan, member of Sacred Heart Parish, and a kidney transplant recipient for over 14 years. He enjoyed watching Westerns and listening to 50's music. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his loyal companion Ruff. Vic is survived by his beloved wife, Helena, of 45 years; son Mark and his wife Jacqueline; daughter Danielle and husband Brad; and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers John and Ted, sisters Louise, Theresa, Mary Ann, and Jean. He was predeceased by his parents John and Anna and sister Agnes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 9-11:00 AM at McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by a 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Victor's memory to UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing - http://support.unos.org) and Plainfield Area Humane Society www.pahs.petfinder.org.
