Edison - Edgar Cabreira, 74 died on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick. Born and raised in the Philippines, Edgar resided in Summit and Piscataway prior to settling to Edison in 1976. He worked for Overlook Hospital as a Medical Technologist in the Donor Services Department for 45 years. Edgar had a kind heart, adventurous spirit & lust for life. He was loved by so many friends & family both in the US & in the Philippines. He was always the jokester & his presence alone generated so much fun & laughter. His passions included gardening, ballroom dancing & traveling the world. He is survived by his wife Estrellita, two sons; Jason Cabreira of South Plainfield and Jed Cabreira of New York City, 3 sisters and two brothers. Also surviving are many extended relative and friends. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 9:30am at St. Helena's RC Church, Edison. Interment of Edgar's cremated remains will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 3-7pm in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. In lieu of sending flowers or gifts, donations in memory of Edgar Cabreira, will be accepted for the Santo Rosario Parish Church in Malita, Davao Del Sur, Philippines (the church in his hometown) or you may donate online at http://cabreira.com
