Obituary of Rudolph V. Fotia

South Plainfield - Rudolph V. Fotia, 83, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at home. Born in Plainfield, Rudolph resided in the city where he met his late wife, Grace Marie. After they were married, Rudolph and his wife moved to Raritan and started their family. A few years later, they settled to South Plainfield where he raised his two sons. He served with the United States Air Force for four years from December 1950 to December 1954, when he was honorably discharged. Rudolph will be remembered as being a very social and charitable man, he enjoyed people and their company. He was a member of the Edison American Legion Post 324. Predeceased by his wife; Grace Marie and nine brothers and sisters, he is survived by two sons; David Fotia of Pocono Lake, PA and Randolph Fotia of Highland Park and stepson; Henry Olszyk of Cape Coral, FL. He will also be missed by his four grandchildren; Rebecca, Hank, Jennifer and Victoria and two great grandchildren; Kai, Addison. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6-8PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Foundation Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
