Leo J. Wilson Former Plainfield Police Captain South Plainfield, NJ - Leo J. "Jack" Wilson, 85, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 1, 2011 at his daughters residence in Brick Township. Born and raised in Plainfield, Jack has been a resident of South Plainfield since 1993. In 1976, Jack retired as a police captain from the Plainfield Police Department. He then worked for ten years for AT&T in New York and New Jersey in security and also worked for Weichert Realty in Watchung as a real estate agent. Later in life, Jack graduated from Trenton State, presently known as The College of New Jersey. He was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, a lifetime member of the North Plainfield B.P.O. Elks and Italian American Club and in his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and golfing. Jack could always be found helping his family, friends and neighbors as a handyman. He is predeceased by his parents Leo and Margaret (Barry), his first wife Grace and by his siblings; Peggy Pozalante and Jim and Frank Wilson. Jack leaves behind his wife Rose Marie (Santoro) and by his daughters; Diane Daly and her husband John of Brick Township and Rosanne Bonnin and her husband Michael of Mt. Bethel, PA. He will be missed dearly by his ten grandchildren; Tara, Jackie, Christie, Freddy, Brian, KellyAnne, Eric, Julian, Rose and Ariahna, his two great-grandchildren; Leo and Anthony and by his sister Patricia Hodgson of Forked River. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 beginning 10:45 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Mausoleum Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 4- 8 PM and on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the service time. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack's name may be sent to Meridian Hospice.
