Obituary of Tommaso Grasso

South Plainfield - Tommaso Grasso, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Benevento Italy, had lived in Argentina and come to the United States in 1972, settling to South Plainfield. A hard working man, Tommaso had worked as a mason, was employed by Harris Steel and later worked as a groundskeeper for Plainfield Country Club prior to retiring. His love for gardening was identifiable at work and at his home. His beloved wife of 65 years, Angelina ( Viscosi ) died on December 24, 2014. Surviving are three sons, Attilio and wife Mirta, Antonio and wife, Joanne and Ernesto and wife Liliana all of South Plainfield and his brother, Erminio Grasso of Italy. He will be sadly missed by six grandchildren, Cristina Brea, Tommaso, Antonio, Michael, Angelica and Nicholas and six great grandchildren, Samantha, Ava, Michael, Sophia, Manuel and Angelina. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Family and friends may attend visitation on Tuesday from 3-7 PM in the funeral home.
