Obituary of Lily Chin Woo

South Plainfield - Lily Chin Woo, 62, died on Friday May 31, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Born in New York City Mrs. Woo resided in New York City and Elizabeth prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1985. Before Lily became a home maker she had various occupations. She worked as a book keeper, day care community organizer, postal employee, substitute teacher and was even a US Census Enumerator. In addition Mrs. Woo also worked in the Asian American for Equality Community Organization in New York City. She enjoyed knitting, collecting photographs as well as presenting Chinese Culture to students at the Riley Elementary School in South Plainfield. Lily is survived by her husband Arnold J. and her two children; Nicole and Justin Woo all of South Plainfield along with her five siblings; Elizabeth Lee and her husband Benjamin, Jeanie Chin, Stanley Chin and his wife Jackie, Elaine Chin and Robert Chin all of Manhattan. Visitation will be held on Monday June 3, 2013 from 5-8pm and on Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 1-4pm in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Cremation services will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Haven Hospice c/o JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08817
