Obituary of Helen M. Meyer

Plainfield - Helen M. ( Carone ) Meyer, 98, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at The Woodlands in Plainfield Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in South Plainfield. She moved to Plainfield before moving to Seaside Heights where she and her late husband, Herman, owned and operated the Meyer Hotel before returning to Plainfield in 1955. For many years, Helen volunteered for the Plainfield Red Cross and had been employed in the accessories department of the former Teppers Department Store. Her hobbies included coin collection and she was a sports fanatic. Her husband, Herman died in 1963, in addition she is predeceased by her son in law, James P. Daley and a sister, Rose Rhine. Surviving are a daughter, Joyce M. Daley; son, Bruce W. Meyer and his wife, Ann; brother, Joseph Carone; four grandchildren, Wayne and Tim Daley, Steven Meyer and Maureen Taylor and five great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment of her cremated remains will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals.
