South Plainfield - Glenn R. "Ox" Diana, 59, died on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clare's Hospital in Dover, NJ Born in Plainfield to the late Sarah and Lewis "Doc" Diana. Glenn has been a lifelong resident of South Plainfield. He has been residing in the South Plainfield Senior Housing where he enjoyed spending time with friends prior to entering the NJ Firemen's Home in Boonton. Glenn graduated from South Plainfield High School and had initially worked as a construction laborer. He then worked for many years a Warehouseman for the former Rickels Home Centers, then worked for HK Trucking and lastly for Absolute Fire Protection. As a life member of the South Plainfield Vol. Fire Department, where he held the rank of Lieutenant and Captain, Glenn also served as the Captain of the Junior Fire Department. Additionally, he was a member of the South Plainfield Exempt Association, the NJ State Fireman's Association and the NJ State Exempt Fireman's Association. Surviving are his son; Daniel, sister; Patti Malecki and her husband Ted, brother; Wayne and his wife Janice, three nieces and three nephews; CJ, Stacey, Lauren, Scott, Kevin and Paige, two great nephews; Matthew and Mason and his beloved cats; Princess and Queenie. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory have been requested to the NJ Fireman's Home, 565 Lathrop Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005 or to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, 123 Maple Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
