John J. Polidori South Plainfield - John J. Polidori , 87, passed away on Monday evening, December 31, 2012, in the Haven Hospice within JFK Medical Center in Edison, with his family at his side. Born in North Plainfield, John grew up and had resided in Plainfield before settling to South Plainfield in1952. He served is county proudly during WWII in the United States Army. Employed for most of his life as a warehouseman, he initially working for the former Art Color in Dunellen and later retired from Ingersoll Rand in Piscataway. He was a former member of the South Plainfield Elks and VFW and had enjoyed spending time Trout fishing and gardening. Predeceased by his brothers, Otto and Mario, John is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie A. ( Olson ), three daughters and their husbands; Jane DeFalco and Nicholas, Barbara Coppola and Jay, and Linda Johnson and Jeffrey, nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Daniel, Joseph, John, Michael and his wife, Amy, Zachary, Jaclynn, Kristin and Alissa, two great grandchildren; Olivia and Maya and a great grandson is expected in May. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral services will begin on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ., 07080. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and 9 -10 AM Friday.
