Plainfield - Raymond Vincent Paoli, Sr. died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison.
As a life long resident of Plainfield, Raymond worked as a material handler for Howell Electric in Plainfield after retiring from the United States Air Force.
During his twenty years of honorable service, Raymond received a purple heart and bronze star for his actions during the Battle of the Bulge. He belonged to the 78th Division Veteran's Association as well as to the South Plainfield American Legion.
His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 58 years who died in January 2009; Liselotte, his parents; Jeremiah and Isabella (Perrine), four brothers; Jeremiah Jr. Gabriel, William and Albert and three sisters; Caroline, Ellen and Frances.
Surviving are two daughters; Bella Paoli of Plainfield and Carol Blair and husband Shawn of Piscataway, two sons; Raymond Paoli Jr. and wife Disa of Manville and James Paoli and wife Laticia of Highlands Ranch, CO. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Lise Prato and husband Scott, his loving care giver Nina Blair, Mary Blair, Taami Booker and husband Gerard Sr, James Vincent, Maria Paoli and Heidi and her husband Brad Beauregard and six great grandchildren; Gerard, Camille, Little Liselotte, Preston and Brandon.
