Obituary of Alice A. Fania

Three Bridges - Alice A. (Fedele) Fania, 92, died on April 4, 2013 at the Margaret McLaughlin McCarrick Care Center in Somerset, NJ. Born and raised in Plainfield, Alice moved to in the Arbor section of Piscataway in 1966. In 1982, Mrs. Fania relocated to Ortley Beach and in 2006 Alice settled to Three Bridges. Mrs. Fania was a dress maker for Star Dress and Jan-el Mode Dress makers both located in Plainfield for over 30 years. While Alice resided in Ortley Beach, she was a member of the Ortley Beach Rescue Squad and was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church in Seaside Heights and was also a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. After relocating to Three Bridges, Alice became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church. She is predeceased by her parents Filomena and Gerald Fedele, her husband James, two sisters; Lena Fania and Rose DeCullo and 2 brothers; Casmir and AnthonyFedele. Surviving are her 3 children; Philomena Wood and her husband Michael of Flemington, Carol George of Wilkes Barre, PA, and James A. Fania and his wife Sally of Bayville, her sister; Frances Sawyer of Jackson Twp., her brother Joseph Fedele of Vero Beach, FL. and by a sister in-law Ethel Fedele of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren; James A. Fania Jr., Lisa Ann Stettner, Natalie Lynn Weyrauch, Michael, David J. and Paul Wood and Donna Melton and William George, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Monday April 8, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Homeside Hospice, 67 Walnut Ave., Clark, NJ 07066 or to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org
