Christine C. Schaefer South Plainfield - Christine C. (Fresolone) Schaefer, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice in Edison. Christine was born and raised in Newark and lived in Union prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1965. During her younger years Mrs. Schaefer worked for Prudential in Newark. After she married, Christine became a homemaker caring for her family. Upon raising her two daughters, Mrs. Schaefer decided to re-enter the workforce working at the Stillman School in Plainfield for 20 years before retirement. She was member of the South Plainfield Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed playing scrabble with her fellow seniors. Christine loved crossword puzzles, was an avid reader and was well known at the South Plainfield Public Library. She is predeceased by her husband the late Paul K., who died on May 13, 1993. Surviving are her 2 daughters; Karen Schaefer of South Plainfield and Cathy Potter of Westampton, her sister; Maryann Boes and her husband Robert of Blairstown, her 2 grandchildren; Erik Potter (Christine Schwarz) and Nicholas Potter and a great grandchild; Chase Schwarz. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 beginning at 12:30 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
