South Plainfield - John Kozak, 90, died Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Woodlands in Plainfield. Born to the late Michael and Theodora in Lowville, NY, John settled to South Plainfield in 1956. He worked as a Slitter Operator for Edge Comb Steel in Hillside prior to retirement. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, John is a WWII purple heart recipient. He will be remembered as a proud Veteran who served his country as well as a proud grandfather of his granddaughter Paige, whom currently serves in the Air Force. A NY Yankees baseball fan, John also enjoyed Polish music and dancing. Predeceased by his wife who died in 1992 Florence; surviving are his two daughters, Karen Kozak of South Plainfield and Katherine Jarrell and husband, Randy of South Carolina; sister, Julia Skryha and brother, Frank. He will also be missed by his six grandchildren, Paige, Taylor, Natalie, Frankie, Michael and Chloe and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, February 27, 2015 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 5-9PM.
