Obituary of Nina Czpeko DeShow

Nina Czpeko Deshow entered into eternal life on December 11, 2015 . She was born on November 24, 1932 in the Ukraine. Most of her early life was spent in war-torn Germany, then refugee camps until coming to the United States in 1956. She settled in Philadelphia, PA with her parents until meeting her husband, Alexander Deshow and moving to New Jersey. She was a lifelong resident of Piscataway Township. She spent her time as a devoted mother to her two daughters and later an incredible grandmother to her three grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress, an avid reader and a gardener. She practiced nutrition, holistic medicine, and loved to find natural cures for those around her who were sick. She loved to dance and belonged to various square dancing, folk dancing and ballroom dancing groups. She also was an active member of the Piscataway Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her father, Vladimir Czpeko, her loving mother, Anna Czpeko and her husband of 56 years, Alexander Deshow. Surviving are her daughters Natalie Deshow of Piscataway, NJ, Margarita Contessa, her favorite son in-law Frank Contessa both of Piscataway, NJ and three grandchildren, Kelly Lynn Contessa of Los Angeles, CA, Rocco Thomas Contessa of Bedminster, NJ, and Sarah Elizabeth Contessa of Piscataway, NJ and her devoted friend and caregiver, Barbara Williams of Franklin, NJ. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd Piscataway, NJ 08854. A prayer service will be held at 8pm. Please consider a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org.
