Robert Stein South Plainfield - Robert Stein, 67, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Somerset Medical Center after a brief battle with lung cancer. Born in Irvington, he resided all of his married life in South Plainfield. He was employed by R & R Marketing in Clifton as a Wine & Spirits salesman for 42 years, retiring in January. Robert served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, was a member of the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #6763 and avid Yankees and Giants Fan. Surviving is his loving wife of over 42 years, Heide, who has promised to love him forever. Three beautiful daughters; Jodi and her husband Gene of South Plainfield, Jami and her husband Brian of Chester and Robyn and her husband Scott of South Plainfield. He was the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren; Bobby, Annabella, Mackenzie, Cassidy and Shayna. His smile and energetic personality will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:30 AM At the Temple of Israel Mausoleum in Beth Israel Cemetery, US Highway #1 North and Gill Lane, Woodbridge, NJ. 07095. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US Highway #1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
