Richard " Dick" A. Cohen Richard "Dick" A. Cohen of Plainfield, passed away on November 17, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Dick is survived by his wife Alison and son Andrew Jonathan and by his two older brothers, William Colin and James Cohen. Dick was born on December 3, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is an alumni of Midwood High School class of 1961. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon being honorably discharged from the service, Dick and Alison married in 1968, and then relocated to Ithaca, N.Y. where he majored in accounting at Ithaca College. After graduation, they moved back to Brooklyn and then relocated to Plainfield, where they have lived for the past forty years. During those 4 decades, Dick worked for various accounting firms until the 1980's when he established his own firm, R. A. COHEN, CPA of Middlesex. He was an avid devotee to the Brooklyn Dodgers, a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the MENSA Society. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM with the service reflecting on Dick's life at 2:00 PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Dick will be deeply missed and his passing will be greatly felt by his family, his friends and his clients; all of whom felt he played a significant role in their lives.
